In a recent gameplay demo at Microsoft’s Ex 2015 press conference, fans of the Halo series finally had a clearer outlook on why Locke is after Master Chief. Is he really the traitor recent trailers have made him out to be?
The demo began with gameplay from Locke’s perspective, the agent on the hunt for the chief. The massive “Guardian” ship looms in the distance and Locke and his team wondering if Master Chief is on it. A Promethean enemy got in their way which appeared to be some sort of mini-boss. Locke proceeded to take him out using a new weapon to the game, the Plasma Caster, which is similar to the energy crossbow in recent entries.
Earlier this month, it was leaked that Blue Team, Locke’s team, would play a crucial role in the game’s four player cooperative story.
