Yes, you read that right. Square Enix and Avalanche Studios are giving away an entire island to the winner of an in-game contest. Sound too good to be true? Well it kind of is.

There is some fine print when it comes to this grand prize. Listed here, “All taxes and fees associated with purchasing and obtaining of Island (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, escrow, and closing costs) are the responsibility of the Winner.” Additionally, “Sponsor does not guarantee the Island to be inhabitable, developed, or reachable by any means other than a boat.”

3 months after Just Cause 3 launches on December 1, the person with the most “Chaos Points,” an in game measurement of the amount of chaos created in the game, will have a chance to win this prize. The location of the prize is still unknown, but Square Enix claims it has a value of $50,000.

Still yet, Square Enix reserves the right to “change and/or substitute any components of the Grand Prize at any time, in its sole discretion.”

So there’s a lot of clauses involved. On the bright side, the winner can choose to receive $50,000 USD instead of the island.

The winner will be notified by the end of March 2016. To be eligible to enter, you must purchase the Day One edition of Just Cause 3.
