More than ten years after its debut, Garry’s Mod will be receiving a sequel.

In an interview with PCGamesN, Garry Newman, creator of Garry’s Mod, was asked whether he has considered raising the price of the title. Despite being immensely popular, the game only costs around $10. In his response, he stated that raising the price would not make sense, as his studio, Facepunch Studios, is working on a sequel.

He responded: “No. I mean, we’re kind of working on a sequel, so it’d be stupid to raise the price.” He then revealed that the studio is experimenting with VR for the Garry’s Mod follow-up. “It’s early days. We’re looking at having more VR stuff in it — that’s the big point of it.”

Garry’s Mod originally launched as a free title. It became very popular, and a paid version was eventually released.

Garry’s Mod originally released at the end of 2004. Facepunch Studios followed up the hit title with Rust, a survival game that has players gathering resources and building structures. Both titles have become incredibly popular, with the two titles gaining over $30 million in sales.
