The VR title POLLEN was on display at EGX today.  The first person exploration RPG aims to for complete immersion using virtual reality headsets and a compelling narrative for players.

The game takes place on a research facility on the moon of Titan, of the planet Saturn.  It’s up to players to uncover what has happened to the facility and the secrets.

Mindfield Games cofounder, Ville Kivisto, said that the emphasis is on the player to uncover what happened to this facility.

“Pollen has environmental storytelling, it’s up to the player to learn anything about the story through the environment we’ve created.” He explained.

“The player has a lot of freedom to learn about the story.  We don’t have any cutscenes or anything like that because this is a VR game, it’s hard to implement those and make it convincing while still keeping the immersion.”

Pollen will be available on PC, Mac and Linux, optimized for VR headsets including the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PS4 Morpheus.

The developers are aiming for a Q1 2016 release date, though the PS4 version may be later due to optimization for the Morpheus.
