Square Enix has reported it’s earnings for the previous six-month period which ended on September 30, and the results look good for the Final Fantasy publisher.

During the six-month time period, Square Enix reported an 18.1 percent revenue increase to ¥86.4 billion. Square Enix’s overall net income ended up being around ¥7.3 billion, nearly a ¥2 billion increase from last year.

Square Enix Digital Entertainment, the company’s video game division, generated the most revenue for the company, approximately ¥60.2 billion, a near ¥20 billion increase.

Always looking ahead, Square Enix had this to say about the business landscape:

“Smartphones and tablet PCs are spreading rapidly, while the console game markets in North America and Europe are increasingly getting competitive and oligopolistic,” it said. “In light of such environmental changes, the Group is focusing all efforts on establishment of a solid revenue foundation through introduction of flexible content development conforming to the ever-changing environment as well as diversification of profit opportunities.”

Square Enix has some big titles coming, including Final Fantasy XV, Xbox One exclusive Rise Of The Tomb Raider, Just Cause 3, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
