Capcom has announced the free expansion for Street Fighter V, coming in June.  It will contain a full story mode.  And according to the executive producer, Yoshinori Ono, it will deviate in a few areas as far as the original storyline was upon the game’s initial launch. However, “it’s very similar to what you see in other Street Fighter titles,” he goes on to say. “–It has still screenshots, conversations, and banter between characters.”

The story mode expansion will contain over an hour of footage to add to the characters.   It will also help players catch up with the events of Street Fighter V. In terms of a timeline, Ono explains, “it’s placed between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III.”  This feature is meant to tie everything from the series into one cohesive franchise. And while Capcom has not officially announced future story mode expansions, they are open to the idea of it.

The final beta for the game will be held from January 30, at 12:01 AM PT until January 31, at 19:00 PT.  The full game will be available for PlayStation 4 and Steam on February 16.  Those who purchased the game will have access to the story mode expansion in June.
