The Division’s recent open beta the past weekend broke numerous records, becoming the “biggest ever for a new game brand on current generation platforms,” according to developer Ubisoft.
The beta for The Division, which was open from February 18-22, brought in a total of 6.4 million players across Xbox One, PS4 and PC. This number helped the game beat the record – the previous holder was Destiny which brought in 4.8 million players across Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3.
The Division’s closed beta at the end of January became Ubisoft’s most-played beta, which is clearly now replaced by this weekend’s open beta.
It will now be interesting to see how the game’s actual release stacks up when it arrives on PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 8th.
