Anyone hoping to put in some late-night online gaming tonight on PSN might run into a couple of hiccups, but only while trying to access specific things.
Due to scheduled maintenance, certain features of PSN will be down tonight, April 18, from 9:30 PM PDT to 11:30 PM PDT. While signing in, playing games, and most applications will be unaffected, “you will not be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Store during this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience,” Sony explains on the PlayStation forums.
“We strive to ensure that PlayStation™Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation™Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.”
To prevent any problems, Sony recommends, if it isn’t already the case, activating your PS4 as your accounts primary console before the maintenance begins. Doing so will ensure all of your games will remain available during the two hour period. As far as down times go, it could be much worse.
