The Division will soon be getting a film adaption, and it is reported that actor Jake Gyllenhaal is set to both star in and produce the movie.
Variety is reporting that there is no writer for the project yet, but the studio is actively looking for someone to write the script.
Many readers will probably be aware that this isn’t the first video game movie that Gyllenhaal has starred in. He also played Prince Dastan in the Prince of Persia movie, which is one of the better game movies. 2016 seems to be packed full of game movies, including Warcraft, Assassin’s Creed, Angry Birds and Ratchet and Clank. Needless to say, it looks like gaming movies are here to stay.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Ubisoft recently released the second major content update for the game, and already it seems the next one isn’t too far away.
