It seems as though we may be seeing another game in the Diablo series. Blizzard has posted job listing for a new Game Director, as well as a Software Engineer, Animators, and Character and Concept artist for the series.
According to the posting on Blizzard’s website, the company is expecting this new Director to “lead the Diablo series into the future.” It goes on to list the responsibilities of the position to include being “the vision holder for the franchise.” At this point it is unclear if the game is an expansion for Diablo 3 or if Blizzard is finally making the leap to Diablo 4.
This news comes while Diablo 3 continues to receive support, including a patch that updated the game’s gem system. Patch 2.4.1 released earlier this year. In the update, Blizzard made changes to the way Legendary gems worked in the game.
The update has given players more options when it comes to how they want to customized their gear by adding gems that can accommodate certain play styles. It it now possible for players to use gems to maximize the effectiveness of activities such as gold and experience farming. While Blizzard has not fully made changes to every gem, they feel that these current changes will provide a new way to give players more options in terms of customizing their gear.
