Level-5 has announced the next installment of the Professor Layton series, Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy.

The game is set to release Spring of 2017 in Japan on Nintendo 3DS, iOS, and Android devices. Currently, the game has been confirmed for a Western release aimed at 2017 with an undetermined date.

In Lady Layton, you’ll assume the role as Katrielle Layton, daughter of renown puzzle-solver Hershel Layton, alongside her canine companion, Sharo.

The game’s first trailer seen below, features animation done by A-1 Studios. Only the Japanese version is available as of now.

Unlike previous entries in the franchise, “The story will focus less on dynamic problem-solving and more on solving multiple mystery cases observed in the everyday lives of Londoners, which will bring a faster tempo and more comical tone to the series,” Level-5 said.

“It will be more familiar and funnier than ever, while maintaining an adventurous quality. The creators of the puzzles and brain-teasers, the core element of the series, will also be new.”

Lady Layton will be the seventh main installment in the series. The Professor Layton series games have sold over 15.5 million units worldwide, according to the studio.
