Today the reveal trailer for the Nintendo Switch was released, showing off Nintendo’s upcoming console. During the trailer, we saw a few new games coming to the system, including some from big Nintendo franchises.

One of the games shown was a Splatoon title. This differs from the original Splatoon as the characters in the Switch trailer were shown to have different “haircuts”, something that was not in the first game. This could imply that a Splatoon 2 is on the way, or an upgraded port of the first game.

Also shown was a Mario Kart game. While it seemed similar to Mario Kart 8, there was one key difference: King Boo was one of the drivers. This hints at the fact that this could be an upgraded port of Mario Kart 8, or a new game entirely. Players also got a quick glimpse of a new Mario game, but outside of the few seconds of gameplay, nothing else is known at this point. The trailer also showed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but we knew that was coming to the system.

Along with the Nintendo developed titles, also shown in the Switch trailer was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It is not known if this was the normal version of Skyrim, or the Special Edition. This is one of the more important games shown in the trailer, as it shows that the Switch may be receiving more third-party support than the Wii U.

It has been confirmed that Nintendo’s Switch will use Nvidia’s Tegra processor. The system will use a custom Tegra processor that includes a Nvidia GPU based on the same architecture as the GeForce graphics cards. Nvidia explained that the upcoming console will also contain custom software including a revamped physics engine and advanced game tools.

The Nintendo Switch will release in March 2017.
