In Activision’s massive earning call, Activision Publishing’s CEO Eric Hirshberg made a statement concerning the upcoming Destiny 2. While refusing to comment on a solidified release date, he has mentioned that Destiny 2 is made with the goal to “broaden the appeal.” This involves lapsed players, fans and entirely new players.

Speaking during the call (via GameSpot), “That sequel is designed to both excite our highly engaged current players,” said Hirshberg, “but also to broaden the appeal even further, bringing in new fans and bringing back lapsed fans.” Hirshberg also mentioned that the team recognizes that the demand for content by fans outweighed what the team could provide, and wishes to “do better in this regard in the future.” For that sake, the team have come together with a “very smart approach that will allow us to deliver that steady stream of great content to keep our players engaged and keep the universe alive and growing in the wake of that sequel.” What this is will have to wait until more information can be divulged.

While the sequel has been revealed months back, there has been no official announcement as of yet. This includes no actual footage of the gameplay or images. The team is still keeping a lid on production until the game is fully prepared for its release. It was however, leaked that the game will be coming to not just PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but for PC too.
