Shigeru Miyamoto said that The Legend of Zelda is still coming to the Wii U.

Last March it was reported that the next Zelda game wouldn’t be released in 2015. In the next month, Nintendo announced a new platform by the codename NX and their plan to make mobile games.

With these two events happening, it left everyone wondering if the next Zelda game would be on the Wii U or not.

“We’re here to talk about Star Fox but Zelda is still coming to Wii U,” Miyamoto said through an interpreter, “so don’t worry about that. My thing with E3 is that we always focus on what’s coming out in the immediate future. We have some really great Zelda footage and, at some point we will be showing that off, but not today.”

So do not fret, fellow Zelda fans! The legend of Zelda has not seen the last of the Wii U.

I appreciate that Nintendo shows off solid content at E3 — but I am still a little sad I didn’t get to see more LOZ. Oh well, it will be great. Always is fantastic.

  • hopefully it stays on the wii u, if on the nx, i’ll expect the graphic will be at least 2-3x better than the wii u version.
