Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain is out next week but reviewers have already had the chance to get their hands on it. The reviews have been rolling in and they’re full of praise for Konami’s series finale. So much so that MGS V, at the time of writing, is the joint-highest rated Metal Gear Solid game according to review score aggregator Metacritic.
The game that is currently stopping MGS V from being the highest-rated game alone is of course Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty. Both titles have an average review score of 96/100 which highlights just how big an achievement these games are. In fact, out of 17 officiated reviews so far for MGS V, the lowest score it has been given is 88/100.
Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots sits in third place on a score of 94, whilst Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater is in fourth with 91.
Do you think MGS V will be the best Metal Gear Solid game in the series?
