The wait for a title you have been tracking for months or even years can be one of the hardest things for a devoted gamer. You’ve thrown down your cash for the preorder bonus, convinced your friends to do the same so they don’t bring the team down, and made sure to tell everyone you’re busy the weekend after launch. Then, the unthinkable happens. The game gets delayed. Luckily for those waiting for Gears of War 4, that will not happen this time around.
According to Xbox Wire, Gears of War 4 has officially gone gold. No, that doesn’t mean it has sold 500,000 copies, although will most likely also be true. In the gaming industry, going gold means that the title is officially ready for manufacturing and launch.
With Gears of War 4 development officially complete, the team at Microsoft Studios and The Coalition can take some time off and celebrate this wonderful milestone. That being said, we hope when the title launches on the Xbox One that fans are met with the follow-up to the great trilogy that they have been hoping for and deserve.
Gears of War 4 launches for Xbox One and PC on October 11th. It will be one of the first major titles to support the Xbox Play Anywhere feature, allowing for cross-play between these two devices.
