One user, perfectlymadebirds, recently posted a listing for the limited edition handheld after placing it in their microwave claiming it was all in the name of art, and is currently listing its “buy it now” price at $11,315.
The page contains the following description
“Working GOLD Nintendo 3DS was microwaved to NON-WORKING Order for purposes to CREATE ARTWORK using the microwaving process inside a fully customized microwaving robot shielded enclosure. 1200 Watts of microwaving power was used to microwave the device inside a 2.2 CUFT VINTAGE 1970S era Whirlpool Microwave BEAST.”
Fans hoping to find the system before and during its launch were disappointed many times, some receiving canceled backorders and many struggling to find a store with them in stock.
