Sony Japan will be the official publisher for Call of Duty Black Ops 3’s Eastern release this coming November.

This marks a historic occasion in the series as Call of Duty has never had a first party publisher in the country. In fact, oddly enough, their previous publisher was famed Final Fantasy creator and prominent third-party developer, Square Enix. However, with the growing interest in Western games in Japan, and Treyarch’s recent partnership with Sony, this comes as no surprise.

Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6th in Japan, much like its American counterpart, and will receive all future DLC at the same time as well.
