Charles Xavier won’t have his last show in the upcoming X-men: Apocalypse as reported in Collider. Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as the venerable Charles Xavier in the upcoming ‘Wolverine’ film alongside Hugh Jackman. The actor plays the older Xavier of the series of films among other famous roles in his acting career. Stewart talked about why he’s accepted his return into the Wolverine standalone films:

“I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me…the idea of an old Wolverine – I’m really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I’m hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he’ll make me look better if that’s the case.”

The upcoming Wolverine film will draw upon the ‘Old Man Logan’ arc of the comics. While the odds of the film featuring the heroes associated with the arc including the Hulk among other characters, it will still show Hugh Jackman’s age finally allowing the character to feel the effects of age.

The 3rd and final Wolverine movie is said to be Hugh Jackman’s last involvement with the character, hoping to end it with as much closure as possible alongside the assistance of director James Mangold and writer Michael Green.

The currently untitled Wolverine movie is slated for release on the 3rd of March, 2017.
