Just a few days ago the iOS version of Bioshock was pulled from the App Store. Tensions were high, the streets were filled with angry mobs, and…well actually it wasn’t that bad. But 2K Studios pulled Bioshock so hard, that even people that bought the game couldn’t download it. When asked about why it was pulled, 2K stated that the pull was due to a “developer decision.” Now, there’s news as to why Bioshock was pulled from the App Store.

Addressing compatibility and firmware issues, a representative from 2K had told GameInformer the following:

“2K recently provided inaccurate information to customers surrounding removal of BioShock for iOS from the App Store,” the representative told us. “BioShock is currently incompatible with iOS versions 8.4 and higher, and as such, is temporarily removed for purchase from the App Store. 2K is fixing the compatibility issue, and when resolved, will place BioShock back on the App Store for purchase. Customers who already own BioShock may continue playing the game with iOS version 8.3 or earlier. 2K regrets the initial customer service error and looks forward to delivering an updated version of BioShock for iOS in the near future.”

While it might currently be a bit of an annoyance for anyone that’s paid for it, it’s at least nice for 2K to own up to their mistake ad attempt to fix the situation. Did you get to play Bioshock on your iOS device? How did you like the port? Sound off in the comments!
