In charge of making Star Wars films is Lucasfilm. The company was attained by Disney awhile back, and with the transition saw George Lucas stepping down from President. George Lucas had intentions to make a TV show to bridge the gap between the original trilogy and the prequels, but when Disney announced they would be making more films, the project was brushed under the rug.

Fans assumed that the TV Show for Star Wars dead, and they would never see the characters in the way that Star Trek fans have had the pleasure of doing. However, Kathleen Kennedy, the current President of Lucasfilm, has said otherwise.

Kathleen Kennedy was asked at a recent Press Event (via Slashfilm) if the TV Show was dead, and had this to say. “No, interestingly enough, that’s an area we’ve spent a lot of time, reading through the material that he developed is something we very much would like to explore,” Later on she also mentioned how the game Star Wars 1313 may also be revived soon.

Kathleen Kennedy has a very positive outlook on the previous works done by Lucasfilm, either completed or non completed. “Our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to.”
