Microsoft has just released an update for the Xbox One that now allows the system to support both Blu-ray Disc Recordable (BD-R) and Blu-ray Disc Recordable Erasable (BD-RE) media. Microsoft’s Partner Director of Program Management, Mike Ybarra, tweeted out the news. This new update allows the system to be more appealing for gamers who are fans of transferring media to disc.

The last big update for the Xbox One added clubs to Xbox Live. The new feature allows gamers to organize groups that focus on a specific interest or game. These groups can be used for matchmaking or interacting with the community at large.

This update also added the Looking for Group function to the system. Another useful feature, Looking for Group allows gamers to easily find others to play with or against. Players can use the system’s search functions to specify the activity for which they need the other player. Along with these new social features, this update also changed the look of the Gamerscore Leaderboard and added emojis to the system’s virtual keyboard.

This along with the recently released Blu-ray recording functionality has allowed the Xbox One to become even more versatile to gamers who own the console.
