Prepare your wallets because the Steam Winter Sale is now upon us.
On December 20th, PayPal UK tweeted that the Steam Winter Sale was coming December 22nd. And PayPal was right!
Steam sales are both welcomed and derided by the PC community. Gamers celebrate being able to buy games at steep discounts but joke that they have difficulty controlling themselves because of the low prices.
Steam’s Winter Sale is not the only ongoing event. Steam has also opened the door for gamers to vote in the Steam Awards. Steam users can currently vote for which game they believe deserves the “Villain Most In Need of a Hug” award: Portal 2, Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, or Dead By Daylight. Participants will receive a special steam trading card.
The Steam Winter Sale is planned to last until January 2nd. Highlights of the sale include the Civilization franchise (10-90% off), the DOOM franchise (40-67% off), Tom Clancy’s The Division (50% off), Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide (66% off), Farming Simulator 17 (15% off), Cities Skylines (75% off), the Just Cause franchise (66-75% off), Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars (50% off), and the Total War Franchise (25-75% off).
