If you are to ask people about the game Ratchet and Clank, you will probably be told of its lovable characters, fantastic weapons and hilarious dialogue. They might also tell you that the PlayStation 4 version of the game, released in April of this year, is visually stunning. Fans of Lombax and his plucky robot pal can now look forward to seeing the pair in even greater detail.

A post from Insomniac on the PlayStation Blog tells us that Ratchet and Clank is getting a free update to fully utilize the additional power the new PlayStation 4 Pro will offer. For those with an appropriate television, this will bring the exotic planets and wacky battles up to 4K resolution. Players with a 1080p HD television will also see an improvement in visual quality, thanks to a process Insomniac Games is calling Temporal Injection.  The statement describes this as allowing them “to not only hit a much higher resolution, but also to do it with jaggie-eliminating anti-aliasing as well.”

The game developer promises that Ratchet and Clank on the PS4 Pro will have the best image quality players have ever seen. It will let you take in the zany Solana Galaxy in all its glory, and is assured to be a feast for the eyes.

Other games have also been given patches to bring them up to the standard that the PS4 Pro pledges. Already impressive titles such as Rise of the Tomb Raider and The Last of Us Remastered have been made “forward compatible.” Ratchet and Clank now joins the list, with the update promised to arrive before the PlayStation 4 Pro’s release date of November 10th.
