Asura’s Wrath

Asura's Wrath. Candidate for the Warriors games.

This one some of you might not know.  Asura’s Wrath was an interesting little game that Capcom published on the Xbox 360 and PS3.  It wasn’t all that impressive but had an interesting way to tell it’s story similar to an anime episode.  It’d tell its story episodically, but with all the episodes on the disc, and be primarily a long QTE with some action sequences to battle through.  Most of it felt like a long interactive cut-scene.

The game told the story of Asura, a fallen deity seeking to reclaim his family after betrayal and took inspiration from the Buddhist and Hindu lore and told a pretty good story.

Why am I saying this would be a good warriors game?  Well because they’re gods.  There were eight gods in the game and all of them had their own aspects and powers, granted some of them were more tactical.  But they were fighting an all present enemy, the Gohma.

The Gohma were demon like beings of corruption which sought to plunge the world into darkness.  This would be a great opportunity to show off the strength of the gods themselves, go deeper into the lore and show us the power that the Hindu gods possess.

Do you agree with my list?  What kind of games would you like to see given the “Warriors” treatment?  Let us know in the comments below.
